Hardy Parole Decisions and Dates
The Parole Board is separate from the local supervision office. It decides whether an eligible prisoner will be paroled, while WVDCR staff carry out supervision after release. The Board’s monthly calendar is a facility and revocation schedule, not a list of inmate names or current decisions. Research observed that the linked calendar could lag its stated research date, so the Board should confirm the live schedule rather than a reader assuming the PDF is current.

The Board’s rules and records route allows a specific request for releasable consideration, rescission, revocation, or discharge material. Confidential victim, treatment, and other protected information can be withheld. A grant still does not show that a prisoner walked out that day. West Virginia Code §62-12-13 governs parole eligibility and Board authority. Eligibility means the person may be considered. It is not a right to release. Offense-specific minimums, conduct, programs, risk review, repeat-offender rules, and life-sentence provisions can affect the result.
Decision records also need careful labels. A denial leaves the person in custody. A set-up schedules later consideration, while postponement or deferral can mean the Board needs more information. A grant can still be rescinded before release if serious discipline or material new facts arise. Hardy Absconder and Warrant Status
An absconder has not completed supervision. The term means the person is reported as failing to maintain required contact and remains subject to enforcement. VINE may send a custody event when a person returns to a facility, but it is a notification service, not the supervision record. Under West Virginia Code §62-12-18, parole generally continues to the maximum sentence less lawful deductions. DCR may seek early discharge after at least one year, and the Board chair may act on it. That point is eligibility for consideration, not automatic completion.
